What this site does with your visit

Like every website, ours sits on a web server that keeps a log of requests: the page asked for, the time, the browser's description of itself, and the network address it came from. Our hosting company keeps those logs for a short period. We look at them occasionally to see whether the site is working and which pages are being read; they are not linked to you and we do not share them.

We do not ask readers to create an account, and no comment form is offered on the site.

A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep. This site sets one only if you log in to manage it, which is the two of us. Reading the site sets none of ours. Anything embedded from elsewhere, described below, may set its own.

Some pages include material published elsewhere: a subscription box from Substack, or a report held on another organization's site. When your browser loads one of those, it talks to that company directly, and that company may set its own cookies under its own policy. We have no access to whatever they collect.

Links to sources take you to other people's sites, which have their own terms.

If you write to us at info@icsusa.org, we keep your message so that we can answer it. We do not add you to any list, and we do not pass your address to anyone.

Ray's column is also published on Substack. If you subscribe there, Substack holds your subscription, not us, under their privacy policy.

The site is written for a general audience, including students. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.
