📄 Abstract

This Global Climate Highlights (GCH) report from the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) provides a synopsis of the state of the global climate in 2025, based primarily on ERA5 global atmospheric reanalysis data produced by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). The report summarises global air temperature, sea surface temperature, and sea ice conditions in both polar regions, and assesses global average temperatures relative to the 1.5 °C limit set by the Paris Agreement.
